Special Notes:
Flowers: Striking pendulous red-orange tubular blooms (hummingbird-pollinated!).
Challenge: Advanced. The plant may lose some leaves after shipping due to stress. This is normal, and they will grow back once the plant adapts to its new home. Ensure it has stable, high humidity and avoid moving it too much during this time.
Ordered online and picked up in Tacoma WA. Plant was good size, traveled well and is doing great this summer, day temps 75-85F and nights 50-60F. Lots of new growth! Very good value, would buy it again :)
Ceratostemas with softer leaves like these don't import well. Mine arrived with a decent amount of growth but did not have a good root system. I took several cuttings of damaged stems from shipping. This one needs to be acclimated immediately upon arrival otherwise leaf drop will occur.
I generally have very good experiences with Ecuagenera, but I was a little disappointed with this plant. Although it was a nice size for the price, it looked a bit peaked. ie, the plant had a number of leaves dried or falling off. The plant expired shortly after I potted it...It may be that this genus does not travel well. It would be helpful to sell plants like this in more of a rooted state
