Aechmea miniata is a vibrant and compact epiphytic bromeliad native to the tropical forests of South America. First described by T. Moore and published in Gard. Companion Florists' Guide: 114 (1852), this warm-growing species forms a neat rosette of stiff, arching leaves 30–45 cm in length, spreading equally wide. It is particularly prized for its showy inflorescence — bright orange or red bracts with small yellow to white flowers — that brings vivid tropical color to any collection or interior space.
