Rhyncholaeliocattleya Espondilus

A fragrant hybrid of Rlc. Ahualoa × C. dowiana, bearing large Cattleya-type flowers with distinctly elongated, lanceolate sepals and petals inherited from C. dowiana that give the flower an open, star-shaped form, and a compact trilobed lip with a deeply frilled, richly colored front lobe that contrasts dramatically with the pale sepals — a bicolor combination of exceptional rarity in the Cattleya alliance.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 30–50% shade cloth; good light levels are essential for reliable blooming.
  • Temperature: 65–86°F (18–30°C); a Warm grower with a minimum tolerance around 60°F (16°C).
  • Humidity: 50–70%; tolerates moderate humidity with good air circulation.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to dry out between waterings; reduce watering slightly after new growth matures.

Additional Notes

Grow in a well-draining bark mix in a pot sized to the root system. Bright light and a slight temperature drop at night encourage blooming. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
