Tillandsia caerulea

An epiphytic air plant native to Ecuador, prized for its delicate three-petaled flowers in a distinctive lavender-blue. It forms a compact rosette of narrow, silvery-green leaves and produces slender scapes with dark bracts — one of the few Tillandsias with true blue-toned blooms.

• Light: Bright indirect to filtered direct light; tolerates morning sun but avoid harsh midday exposure, which can desiccate the fine leaves.
• Temperature: 50–75°F (10–24°C); a cool to intermediate grower that benefits from good air circulation and mild, stable conditions.
• Humidity: 50–80%; regular misting or soaking supports healthy growth, especially in drier environments.
• Watering: Mist 2–3 times per week or soak for 20–30 minutes weekly; always allow to dry fully before the next watering to prevent rot at the base.

Additional Notes

Tillandsia caerulea is shipped without substrate and can be mounted on cork or driftwood, or displayed freely. Its compact form and rare blue-lavender flowers make it a standout specimen in any air plant or bromeliad collection.
