Description

Description

A floriferous epiphyte from the cloud forests of Central America, producing branched spikes with numerous small, sweetly fragrant flowers. The spreading sepals and petals have a smooth texture with a gently undulate margin, while the trilobed lip features a broad frontal lobe and a prominent central callus that serves as a landing platform for pollinators.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can stress the pseudobulbs and foliage.
  • Temperature: 57–75°F (14–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from a slight nighttime temperature drop to encourage spike initiation and enhance fragrance.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent moisture supports vigorous growth and the production of fragrant, multi-branched spikes.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine to medium bark mix with good drainage and airflow. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
