Description

Description

A large and elegant epiphyte native to Ecuador, producing multiple flowers simultaneously on upright scapes among broad, lanceolate leaves. The wide, reflexed sepals and petals frame a highly ornamental trilobed lip with fimbriate lateral lobes and a richly textured, golden midlobe.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the broad leaves.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from stable conditions and good air circulation.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports vigorous growth and the impressive multi-flowered display.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Ships bare root and well-established — pot promptly upon arrival in a well-draining bark mix and water generously to rehydrate the roots. Best grown in a standard pot sized to accommodate its robust root system.
