Description

Description

A spectacular epiphyte native to Ecuador, forming large, fan-shaped clusters of long, lanceolate leaves. It produces an impressive flush of simultaneous flowers on pendant scapes, each with remarkably elongated, filiform sepals and petals that cascade dramatically from the foliage.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the long leaves.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); an intermediate-cool grower that benefits from cool nights and stable conditions.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; high humidity supports the vigorous fan-shaped growth habit and prolific blooming.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Ships bare root and well-established — pot promptly upon arrival in a wide, well-draining container and water generously to rehydrate the roots. Best suited for cool greenhouse conditions where its full fan habit can develop freely.
