Description

Description

A captivating miniature species from the cloud forests of the Andes, prized for its unusually elongated orange caudas that extend dramatically from each sepal, giving the flower a striking, almost otherworldly silhouette. Compact and free-flowering, it makes an exceptional specimen for cool to intermediate growers.

  • Light: 50–70% shade cloth; bright, diffused light. Avoid any direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 45–68°F (7–20°C); Cool to Intermediate grower. Consistent cool nights are essential for healthy growth and blooming.
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Requires high humidity at all times; excellent air movement is critical to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist; never allow the roots to dry out completely. Water frequently with good drainage to avoid stagnation.

Additional Notes

Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador, this select form is distinguished by its vivid orange caudas — a rare and sought-after color variant within the species. Best grown in small pots or mounted with consistent moisture. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
