Description

This attractive species displays elegant flowers with distinctive form and excellent substance, blooming reliably when provided with intermediate temperatures and consistent moisture.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50-70% shade cloth. Protect from direct sun to prevent leaf damage.
  • Temperature: Intermediate grower. Daytime 64-77°F (18-25°C), nighttime 55-64°F (13-18°C). Benefits from 10-15°F day-night differential.
  • Humidity: 65-80% with good air circulation. Achieve with humidity trays, humidifiers, or terrarium setups.
  • Watering: Keep consistently moist year-round. Water mounted plants daily, potted specimens every 2-3 days. Reduce slightly during winter.

Additional Notes

Native to Colombia at 2,000-2,800 meters elevation, named in honor of García. Grows well mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or potted in fine bark mix with sphagnum moss.
