Description

Description

A striking miniature epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing flowers on long, thread-like ramicauls that emerge from small ovate leaves. The blooms are defined by triangular acuminate sepals with densely fimbriate margins — the fringed edges that give this species its name — and prominent bilobed petals that add to the flower's dramatic, open structure.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can damage the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with cool nights and consistent air movement.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; maintain high ambient humidity with strong airflow to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist at all times; water frequently in small amounts and never allow the roots to dry out completely.

Additional Notes

Best mounted on cork or tree fern, or potted in a fine, well-draining mix (sphagnum moss or fine bark). Ships bare root, well-established.
