Description

Description

A fascinating species from the cloud forests of Ecuador with a growth habit entirely unlike most members of the genus. It forms long, creeping and branching stems densely clothed in small, lance-shaped leaves, with small, star-shaped flowers emerging simultaneously at multiple nodes along the stems — creating a floriferous, cascading display that is best appreciated when mounted or grown in a hanging basket.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the fine, branching stems.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with good temperature drops at night and excellent air circulation.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; high humidity is essential for this creeping, fine-rooted species.
  • Watering: Keep the mount or mix evenly moist; avoid prolonged dryness, which can stress the shallow root system.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern, or in a hanging basket, to allow its branching, cascading stems to develop freely. A truly unique collector's species from the highlands of southern Ecuador. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
