Oncidium
Souvent appelé l'« Orchidée Danseuse », l'Oncidium est un genre vibrant et exubérant, connu pour ses profuses tiges de petites fleurs complexes qui ressemblent à des danseuses aux jupes amples et virevoltantes. Originaires d'une vaste gamme d'habitats à travers l'Amérique latine, des forêts tropicales humides aux forêts de nuages de haute altitude, ces orchidées produisent généralement de hautes inflorescences ramifiées, densément couvertes de fleurs aux nuances éclatantes de jaune, de bronze, de rouge, de rose et de blanc, souvent ornées de taches ou de motifs contrastés. Leur labelle distinctif est généralement large et froufrouteux, ce qui accentue leur apparence vive et dynamique. De nombreuses espèces et hybrides sont également délicieusement parfumés, remplissant l'air d'une senteur sucrée et parfois épicée.
