Information

Description

Description

A highly floriferous miniature species from the Andean cloud forests, with orbicular, densely glandular-pubescent leaves displaying a distinctive dark-pigmented undersurface. Multiple flowers open simultaneously on each ramicaul, each bearing free, spreading sepals, fimbriate fan-shaped lateral petals, and a small contrasting lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can damage the delicate glandular leaf surface.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate-warm grower that performs well under stable indoor conditions with moderate nighttime drops.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; maintain consistently high moisture with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues on the pubescent foliage.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist; water frequently in small amounts and avoid prolonged dryness between waterings.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork bark with fine sphagnum moss or in a small net pot in a humid enclosure. Its prolific blooming habit makes it a standout in any miniature orchid collection. Ships bare root, well-established.
