Oncidium sphacelatum is a robust epiphytic orchid native to Central and South America, renowned for its spectacular branching flower spikes that can reach impressive lengths. This vigorous species produces masses of bright yellow flowers with distinctive brown markings, creating a stunning cascade of blooms that truly embody the 'dancing lady' orchid reputation.
Additional Notes:
This vigorous grower develops large pseudobulbs and can produce multiple flower spikes simultaneously. The impressive flower displays can last 6-8 weeks and may appear multiple times per year under optimal conditions.
What a big clump of plants I got! There are even two new pseudobulbs. The plants were received in a surprisingly good condition, nicely wrapped in thick packaging. The roots are white and healthy, although some of the leaves have yellowed, likely during the shipping process to Singapore. Other than that, no damage was observed. After all, this species is known to be tolerant of various conditions. The spikes can reach 6ft. in length, so hopefully I get to see them soon! This is my fifth orchid from Ecuagenera, and the second time ordering from them. So far the most satisfactory purchase.
Thank you for your continued trust in us! We’re thrilled the roots and plant quality met your expectations. We look forward to seeing your success with those massive spikes soon!✨
