Description

Description

This captivating species displays elegant tubular flowers with distinctive markings and a graceful form, rewarding growers with successive blooms when provided with cool temperatures and attentive care.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50-70% shade cloth. Direct sunlight will scorch leaves and damage flowers.
  • Temperature: Cool grower. Daytime 59-72°F (15-22°C), nighttime 50-59°F (10-15°C). Requires 10-15°F day-night differential for best flowering.
  • Humidity: 70-85% with strong air movement. Maintain using humidity trays, humidifiers, or terrarium culture.
  • Watering: Keep consistently moist throughout the year. Water mounted plants daily, potted specimens every 2-3 days. Reduce slightly in winter.

Additional Notes

Native to Ecuador at 2,400-3,000 meters elevation, named in honor of botanist Figueroa. Best grown mounted on tree fern or cork bark, though adapts well to small pots with fine bark mix and sphagnum moss.
