This distinctive Ecuadorian species produces elegant flowers with fused sepals forming a tubular structure and gracefully elongated sepaline tails that create a refined appearance.
Additional Notes
Native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, the species name 'cinnamomea' refers to the cinnamon-like tones that characterize this species. Best grown mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or in small pots with fine-grade bark mix or sphagnum moss.
The Masdevallia cinnamomea that I purch
ased arrived in good condition as did the other plants in the order. The plants were of good size and two of them had blooms. I was a bit concerned about the roots at first but most of the plants have developed new growth.
I have purchased plants from Ecuagenera for the last 10 years or so. They have always made good if any plant was in poor condition on arrival. I will say that their packing and shipping is much improved and they have it down to a science.
Ecugenera is my go to for species Masdevallia that I can't get anywhere else and occasional hybrid. I've used their plants for hybridizing in my hobby orchid business. The plants are immaculate, healthy and strong.

Plant is very unhealthy and lost 3/4 of its leaves right when I unwrapped it. It has almost no good roots. Remaining leaves do not look great, with brown and yellow patches.
