Information

Cattleya quadricolor f. coerulea

An elegant and rare color form of this classic species native to the mountain forests of South America, making a highly desirable addition to any collection. This compact to medium-sized epiphyte develops sturdy upright pseudobulbs that produce distinctive, fragrant winter and spring blossoms known for their captivating bell-shaped presentation and beautifully delicate lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the compact foliage.
  • Temperature: 59–79Β°F (15–26Β°C); an intermediate to warm grower that adapts well to stable indoor conditions.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity encourages vigorous growth and prolific flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; never allow the roots to remain waterlogged.

Additional Notes

This beautiful orchid performs best when potted in a coarse, fast-draining bark mix to accommodate its medium plant size and large flowers. It ships bare root, well established, and should be gently rehydrated at an intermediate temperature prior to potting upon arrival.
