Information

Description

Description

A charming bifoliate species native to the coastal forests of South America, producing slender, upright pseudobulbs topped with a pair of leathery leaves. The short terminal inflorescences gracefully emerge to bear medium-sized, waxy flowers characterized by structurally refined segments and a highly striking, deeply veined lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; provide adequate shading to protect the foliage while ensuring enough illumination for flowering.
  • Temperature: 61–84Β°F (16–29Β°C); an intermediate to warm grower that thrives well under stable greenhouse or indoor conditions.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity paired with good air circulation ensures a healthy root system and pristine foliage.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to dry out almost completely between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation to prevent root rot.

Additional Notes

This compact to medium-statured plant produces exceptionally long-lasting, beautifully structured flowers that make it a delightful addition to any collection. It ships bare root, healthy, and ready to be gently rehydrated at an intermediate temperature before potting into an open, fast-draining medium.
