Information

Description

Description

A miniature creeping epiphyte from the Andean cloud forests, it forms dense chains of small, fleshy ovate leaves along slender, trailing stems, with solitary intricate flowers emerging from each node. The distinctive fused lateral sepals, velvety dark lip, and reflexed yellow-green sepal tips give this species a fascinating, jewel-like character prized by miniature orchid enthusiasts.

  • Light: Low to moderate indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can desiccate the small, fleshy leaves.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool-intermediate grower that requires consistently cool conditions to thrive and rebloom.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; high humidity is essential — mount on cork or grow in a humid enclosure to replicate cloud forest conditions.
  • Watering: Keep the roots consistently moist; mounted plants may require daily misting in dry conditions.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork bark or tree fern with a thin layer of sphagnum moss, or in a small pot with fine bark and perlite. Ships bare root and well-established — roots are healthy and ready to adapt quickly to your growing conditions.
