Aerangis hyaloides is a captivating miniature epiphytic orchid native to Madagascar, first described by (Rchb.f.) Schltr. (1914). A warm to hot-growing member of the Orchidaceae family, it is prized for its translucent, crystalline white flowers — the name hyaloides means "glass-like" in reference to their delicate, almost luminous appearance. Its tiny size and exquisite blooms make it one of the most sought-after miniature orchids for terrarium and vivarium cultivation.
Aerangis hyaloides is a true gem of the miniature orchid world — its glass-like white flowers are among the most delicate and beautiful in the genus. A rare and rewarding species perfectly suited to terrarium cultivation, from Ecuagenera, grown with care in Ecuador.
I bought this orchid on specs (my first time with Ecuagenera), to be picked up at the Toronto Orchid Show. On arrival, I'm very pleased to see that the plant is extremely well packed and very healthy, even after a long journey to Canada in the middle of winter. This is a miniature orchid, so very small, but mine already has established roots and even a flower spike. Thank you from a happy customer.
