Description

Phragmipedium Elizabeth March Culture:

This captivating slipper orchid hybrid, is a cross between the hybrid Phragmipedium Sedenii and the species Phragmipedium besseae. This hybrid showcases the artistry of orchid breeding, masterfully combining the impressive, vigorous growth and refined form of P. Sedenii with the beautiful colors and shape of P. besseae.

  • Light: Prefers moderate, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, especially during the midday hours, as this can easily scorch the leaves. A bright, east-facing window or a location with filtered light is often ideal for this type of orchid.
  • Temperature: Thrives in intermediate temperatures. Ideal daytime temperatures should range between 18-24°C (65-75°F), with a slight drop at night to 13-18°C (55-65°F). This temperature range helps promote healthy growth and flowering.
  • Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally between 60-80%. Excellent air circulation is still essential to prevent fungal issues, especially in humid conditions.
  • Watering: This hybrid demands consistent moisture. Proper care involves using well-draining growing media, maintaining consistent soil moisture, and providing regular fertilization to support healthy growth and prolific flowering. The potting medium should never be allowed to dry out completely.
