Description

Description

One of the most impressive species in the genus, it produces large, globose flowers with a densely spotted, velvety texture and three long, gracefully curved tails — one arching dorsally and two cascading laterally — creating a dramatic, sculptural presence.

  • Light: Low to moderate light; 70–80% shade cloth recommended. Avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 50–70°F (10–21°C). Intermediate grower; benefits from good airflow and moderate temperature fluctuation.
  • Humidity: 75–90%. Maintain high humidity with adequate air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist at all times; never allow roots to dry out completely. Water frequently during warm months.

Additional Notes

Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador, this species thrives in fine bark or sphagnum moss with excellent drainage. Shipped bare root, well-established.
