Information

Description

Description

A selected cultivar of a compact epiphytic species from the Andean cloud forests, prized for its exceptionally bold, pendant flowers. The blooms display the genus’ signature structure: thread-like antennal petals and dorsal sepal rising above a pair of dramatically fused, elongated synsepal with bold longitudinal veining — produced successively from the base of the leaves over extended periods.

  • Light: Moderate indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leathery leaves.
  • Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); a cool grower that requires consistent cool temperatures and good airflow to thrive.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; high humidity with excellent air circulation prevents fungal issues and supports continuous blooming.
  • Watering: Keep the mix evenly moist; Restrepias prefer not to dry out completely between waterings due to their lack of water-storing pseudobulbs.

Additional Notes

This large-sized division is well-established and capable of blooming repeatedly throughout the year. Best grown in a small pot with fine bark or sphagnum moss, or mounted with a moisture-retaining backing. An outstanding selection for the cool-growing miniature collector. Ships bare-root in excellent condition.
