Andreettaea macroblepharis

A striking miniature orchid from the Andean cloud forests, producing slender, wiry stems that carry flowers with extraordinarily elongated, filiform sepals. The lateral sepals extend dramatically downward while the dorsal sepal reaches upward, creating an airy, spider-like silhouette that is instantly captivating.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the delicate foliage.
• Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a Cool grower that benefits from cool nights and steady air movement. Minimum 45°F (7°C).
• Humidity: 70–90%; mount or grow in a fine open mix to ensure excellent airflow around the roots while maintaining high ambient moisture.
• Watering: Water frequently to keep roots evenly moist; avoid prolonged dry periods, which the fine root system does not tolerate well.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork bark or in a small basket with a fine, open mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
