Information

Description

Description

A classic slipper orchid from the cloud forests of northeastern India and Myanmar, instantly recognizable by its distinctive dorsal sepal — broad, white, and marked with a central purple stripe. It produces a single, elegant flower per stem with a glossy, helmet-shaped pouch and gracefully undulating petals.

  • Light: Low to medium indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which damages the soft foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–78°F (13–26°C). Intermediate-warm grower; benefits from a slight temperature drop at night to encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; good air movement is essential to prevent fungal issues at the crown.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist; never allow to dry out completely, but avoid waterlogging. Use soft or rainwater when possible.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine bark and perlite mix in a plastic pot. Ships bare root, well-established. Grown at Ecuagenera, Ecuador.
