Description

Description

One of the most dramatic species in the genus, native to the cloud forests of Ecuador. The recurved, spotted sepals and petals surround an extraordinarily broad, trilobed lip with long, thread-like fringed margins — a floral structure unlike any other in the Oncidium alliance.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.
  • Temperature: 46–68°F (8–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with distinct day-to-night temperature differentials.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; good air circulation is essential to keep the foliage healthy at cooler temperatures.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; reduce frequency during cooler months.

Additional Notes

A collector's species prized for its extraordinary fringed lip. Best grown in a medium bark mix with excellent drainage. Ships bare root, well established, and ready to acclimate to your growing conditions.
