Information

Description

Description

This compact species features charming small flowers with distinctive keeled sepals on delicate branching sprays, thriving in intermediate to warm conditions and rewarding growers with reliable blooming when given bright light and good air movement.

  • Light: Bright indirect to filtered light with 30-50% shade cloth. Tolerates some direct morning sun but protect from intense afternoon rays.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm grower. Daytime 70-80°F (21-27°C), nighttime 60-65°F (16-18°C). Adapts well to household temperatures with adequate air circulation.
  • Humidity: 50-70% humidity. Maintain with humidity trays or room humidifiers. Ensure excellent air movement to prevent fungal issues on foliage and pseudobulbs.
  • Watering: Water when potting medium approaches dryness, typically every 7-10 days. Allow slight drying between waterings to promote healthy root development.

Additional Notes

Native to Central America at 1,000-2,000 meters elevation. Best grown mounted on cork bark or tree fern, though adapts well to small pots with medium bark mix.
