A large and elegant species from the cloud forests of South America, producing solitary flowers on upright scapes that emerge directly from the base of elongated pseudobulbs. The blooms are broad and open with wide, gently recurved tepals that spread laterally, and a well-developed trilobed lip with a prominent callus.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the broad, strap-like foliage.
• Temperature: 61–82°F (16–28°C); a warm grower that thrives in stable, humid conditions year-round.
• Humidity: 65–85%; consistent humidity with good airflow is essential for healthy root and pseudobulb development.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to partially dry between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the root zone.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix in a medium to large pot. A rewarding warm-growing species that produces impressive, long-lasting flowers. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
