Information

Description

Description

A fascinating miniature species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, forming dense, pendulous fans of needle-like leaves with small flowers emerging directly from the base of the growth. The blooms are intricate and spotted, with a characteristic hooded structure typical of the genus.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct sun exposure, which can desiccate the fine foliage.
  • Temperature: 57–79°F (14–26°C); an intermediate-warm grower that tolerates mild temperature fluctuations.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; high humidity is essential for healthy root and leaf development in this fine-leaved species.
  • Watering: Keep the mix evenly moist but never waterlogged; the fine root system is sensitive to prolonged dryness.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern to accommodate its pendulous habit, or in a small basket with a fine bark mix. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
