Information

Description

Description

A vivid red form of one of the most floriferous miniature orchids in cultivation, native to the high-altitude cloud forests of New Guinea. It produces disproportionately large, intensely saturated flowers on a tiny, compact plant that blooms almost continuously throughout the year.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–50% shade cloth; good light intensity sustains continuous blooming.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C). Intermediate grower; Intermediate-cool temperatures are essential — avoid heat above 75°F (24°C) for extended periods.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; very high humidity is critical. Best grown in a cool, humid terrarium or highland growing setup.
  • Watering: Keep the mix consistently moist; never allow roots to dry out. Use soft or rainwater and ensure excellent drainage.

Additional Notes

Best mounted on cork or tree fern, or grown in a small net pot with live sphagnum moss. Ships bare root, well-established (~4cm). Grown at Ecuagenera, Ecuador.
