Anthurium cachabianum Culture:
Successful cultivation of Anthurium cachabianum requires attention to the following aspects:
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Temperature: Thrives in warm, humid temperatures typical of tropical climates. Ideal temperatures range between 18°C and 27°C (64°F and 80°F).
Humidity: Requires high ambient humidity. The use of humidifiers, frequent misting, or cultivation in terrariums may be necessary.
Watering: Keep the substrate consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Substrate: Prefers a well-draining, airy substrate, rich in organic material.
Additional Notes:
It is characterized by its deep-green, velvety, heart-shaped leaves and prominent veins.
Anthurium cachabianum is considered a rare species, and its natural habitat is threatened, making proper cultivation efforts essential for its preservation.
I was looking for a little wider of a strappy like plant and this has yet to disappoint! Its very durable thicker leaf and definitely a beauty to any anthurium collector.
Got this as a by-the-way purchase because I thought it lookedsimilar to the anthurium microphyllum. It is huge! So no, not a dainty kind of beauty. The plant shipped well and appears to be hardy, getting along fine in a semi-outdoors environment of 70-ish % humidity.
