Alocasia macrorrhiza variegata Culture

Successful cultivation of the majestic Alocasia macrorrhiza variegata requires careful attention to its specific needs. Here are some key cultural tips to ensure its thriving growth:

Light: Alocasia macrorrhiza variegata prefers bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate some direct morning or late afternoon sun, excessive exposure can scorch its leaves.

Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 21-29°C (70-84°F) during the day. Nighttime temperatures should be slightly cooler, around 18-24°C (64-75°F).

Humidity: High humidity levels are essential for Alocasia macrorrhiza variegata. Aim for a range of 60-80% humidity. Consider using humidifiers, pebble trays, or misting to maintain optimal conditions.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Allow the top inch of the potting mix to dry slightly between waterings.

Everything was perfect.

Nice plant with very minor transport damage. It was immediately hydrated and is now doing fine. Excellent variegation pattern.

Thank you so much, Leslie! We’re happy to hear that everything went smoothly and that your plant is already doing well. Minor transport stress can happen, but it’s great to know you acted quickly with hydration — and even better to hear that the variegation pattern is excellent!

We truly appreciate your support and trust in Ecuagenera. Wishing you continued success with your plant’s growth!

Warm regards,
Ecuagenera Team.

Smaller than expected

When I got my cutting, I was disappointed to see it was only a 2 leaf cutting and 1 of the leaves had completely yellowed, with the last leaf starting to yellow. I now have a stump, anxiously waiting to see if it will grow back. I appreciate there will be some shipping and acclimation issues, but maybe consider giving larger cuttings to avoid any disappointment to your customers. Thank you
