Information

Philodendron ernestii

Philodendron ernestii is a climbing aroid admired for its elongated green leaves and graceful tropical appearance. Given a sturdy support, it develops an upright display that highlights each new leaf as it unfurls. Its flowing foliage makes it an appealing choice for collectors who enjoy watching a climbing philodendron mature.

Care Guide

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Protect the leaves from intense direct sunlight.
  • Temperature: Keep in warm, stable conditions, away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the upper layer of the growing medium begins to dry. Allow excess water to drain, and avoid leaving the pot standing in water.
  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity supports healthy growth. Maintain gentle airflow around the plant.
  • Potting: Use a loose, well-draining aroid mix containing ingredients such as orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. Choose a pot with drainage holes.
  • Support: Provide a moss pole or other sturdy climbing support, securing stems gently as the plant grows.
  • Feeding: Apply a balanced fertilizer at a diluted strength during active growth, following the manufacturer's directions.
  • Safety: Keep out of reach of pets and children. Philodendrons are harmful if ingested.

With filtered light, an airy growing medium, and room to climb, Philodendron ernestii brings lush foliage and a natural vertical accent to your plant collection.
