Masdevallia Sol del Medio Dia

A primary hybrid between Masd. davisii and Masd. floribunda, producing numerous erect spikes simultaneously, each bearing a small hooded flower with fused, lantern-like sepals and fine upright tails. One of the most floriferous Masdevallias for the cool grower.

• Light: 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun
• Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); cool grower — requires cool nights year-round
• Humidity: 70–90%; ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues
• Watering: Keep evenly moist; water frequently but never allow roots to sit in standing water — Masdevallias have no pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drought

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine bark or sphagnum moss mix in a plastic or clay pot with excellent drainage. Shipped bare root, well established. Grown at Ecuagenera, Ecuador.
