A charming species from the cloud forests of Colombia and Ecuador, producing well-formed, tubular flowers with fused sepals and slender caudas. Sequential and reliable in bloom, it is a rewarding species for cool-growing enthusiasts seeking consistent floral performance in a compact plant.
Additional Notes
Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador. Best grown in small pots with a fine, well-draining mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.

If you want a plant that needs to be divided as well as potted up, this is the plant for you. Some yellow leaves which one would expect with such a large plant growing in a confined space. I am a little concerned about the relatively few spent flower spikes; we'll see. The photo was taken after the plant was divided and represents slightly less than half of the original plant.
Thank you for sharing! We are glad that you received such a robust specimen that it allowed for division right away. Don't worry about the flower spikes a plant of that size and maturity has plenty of energy stored to produce a beautiful flush of blooms once it settles into its new home. Happy growing!
