Ceroxylon parvifrons

Ceroxylon parvifrons, the small-leaved Andean wax palm, is a striking highland palm known for its elegant crown and strong, upright presence. Native to the cool mountain forests of the Andes, it brings a touch of cloud-forest character to a collection and becomes an especially impressive feature plant as it matures.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide bright light, with gentle direct sun introduced gradually. Protect young plants from intense afternoon heat.
• Water: Keep the growing medium evenly moist, but never waterlogged. Allow excess water to drain freely.
• Humidity: Provide moderate to high humidity and steady air movement.
• Temperature: Favor cool to intermediate conditions, avoiding prolonged heat and sudden temperature extremes.
• Potting: Use a fertile, airy, well-draining mix and a container with reliable drainage.

With its refined silhouette and connection to the Andean cloud forests, Ceroxylon parvifrons is a rewarding choice for collectors who appreciate distinctive palms. Give it space, consistent moisture, and a cool, bright environment, and enjoy watching this remarkable species develop its character over time.
