Information

Description

Description

A cool-growing reed-stem epiphyte endemic to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing lax, arching, branched panicles of numerous flowers distributed along slender secondary branches. The blooms display narrow, elongated, recurved sepals and petals alongside a prominently fringed lip with long fringe margins and a contrasting yellow-orange callus at its center.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to preserve the airy, arching panicle habit.
  • Temperature: 45–65°F (7–18°C); a cool grower that thrives with cool nights and consistent temperature fluctuations between day and night.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; good air movement around the stems and roots is essential to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix with support for the arching panicles. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
