Dendrobium chrysanthum

A robust, cane-forming species from the forests of the Himalayas and Southeast Asia, bearing pendant clusters of 2–3 waxy flowers at the nodes of long, arching canes, each with a large, concave, velvety lip marked by a deep maroon blotch edged in fine fringed margins. One of the most ornamental and distinctive species in the genus.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; tolerates higher light than many Dendrobiums, but avoid harsh midday sun to prevent cane scorch.
• Temperature: 60–82°F (15–28°C); intermediate to warm grower. A brief cooler, drier rest in winter encourages blooming along the canes.
• Humidity: 60–80%; adapts well to moderate humidity. Good air movement around the canes helps prevent fungal issues during the rest period.
• Watering: Water freely during active growth; reduce significantly in winter to allow a dry rest. Resume watering when new growth or buds appear at the nodes.

Additional Notes

Best grown in medium bark mix in a plastic or clay pot with good drainage. Shipped bare root with a healthy, well-established root system — ready to pot upon arrival.
