Description

Description

An elegant epiphytic orchid native to the high-altitude cloud forests of Mexico and Central America. It is admired for its pendulous inflorescences that carry multiple waxy, long-lasting flowers with a distinctive crystalline texture.

  • Light: Bright indirect light. It thrives in high-light conditions but requires protection from direct midday sun to avoid foliage damage.
  • Temperature: 58-80°F (14-27°C). An intermediate grower that benefits from a moderate drop in night temperatures and a slightly cooler winter period to encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: 60-80%. It requires high humidity and excellent air circulation year-round to mimic its natural montane environment and prevent spotting on the leaves.
  • Watering: Water frequently and keep the substrate moist during the active growing season. Significantly reduce watering during the winter months, providing only enough to keep the pseudobulbs from shriveling.

Additional Notes

This species is highly valued for its intense fragrance and striking floral display. It is best grown in baskets or well-draining pots with a fine bark mix to accommodate its pendulous blooming habit. Shipped with a healthy, well-established root system and ready for potting upon arrival.
