Dracula kareniae

A species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing pendant flowers with broad, rounded sepals that are velvety in texture and a small, fungus-mimicking lip at the center. The inflorescences droop downward from the base of the plant, a characteristic adaptation for pollination by fungus gnats.

• Light: Low to medium indirect light with 70–80% shade cloth; avoid any direct sun exposure.
• Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); a cool grower requiring stable cool conditions and good air circulation.
• Humidity: 80–90%; consistently high humidity is essential throughout the year.
• Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist at all times; roots must never dry out completely.

Additional Notes

Best grown in fine bark or sphagnum moss with excellent drainage. Shipped bare root and well established.
