Bulbophyllum retusiusculum

A warm-growing epiphyte widely distributed across the forests of South and Southeast Asia, producing dense umbellate inflorescences with numerous small flowers arranged in a radial display. The elongated, spatulate lateral sepals fan outward in a striking sunburst pattern, while the contrasting dark labelos and diminutive petals at the center add a bold focal point to the cluster.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–50% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to protect the foliage.
• Temperature: 65–86°F (18–30°C); a warm grower with a minimum tolerance around 60°F (15°C).
• Humidity: 70–85%; maintain high humidity with strong air circulation to keep roots healthy.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a basket with a coarse bark mix for excellent drainage and airflow. Ships bare root, well established.
