Tillandsia umbellata

Tillandsia umbellata is a distinctive air plant with elegant foliage and a sculptural growth habit that brings a touch of the tropics to compact displays. Because it grows without soil, it looks striking mounted on cork or wood, nestled into a decorative holder, or displayed alongside other tillandsias.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide bright, filtered light. Protect the plant from intense midday sun, which may scorch the foliage.
• Water: Water thoroughly, then gently shake off excess moisture. Allow the plant to dry completely between waterings and avoid leaving water trapped around the base.
• Airflow: Keep it in a well-ventilated spot so the leaves dry promptly after watering.
• Temperature: Maintain warm conditions and protect it from frost and cold drafts.
• Feeding: Apply a diluted fertilizer formulated for bromeliads or air plants occasionally during active growth.

With good light, consistent hydration, and plenty of airflow, Tillandsia umbellata makes a fascinating living accent for collectors and anyone looking to add natural texture without a traditional pot.
