Description

Description

A compact miniature orchid from the Andean cloud forests, bearing solitary flowers on slender stems. The erect dorsal sepal is narrowly lanceolate with a sharply acuminate tip, while the lateral sepals are fused into a broad, rounded synsepalum — a striking structural contrast that defines the species.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid harsh direct sun, which can damage the small, succulent-like leaves.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a Cool grower that performs best with cool nights and good air movement. Minimum 45°F (7°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%; mount or grow in a small basket to allow roots to dry slightly between waterings while maintaining ambient moisture.
  • Watering: Water frequently but allow brief drying between cycles; never let roots sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork bark or tree fern to mimic its natural lithophytic and epiphytic habit. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
