Information

Pearcea reticulata

A stunning foliage plant from the Gesneriaceae family, native to the tropical forests of South America. Its deep green leaves display a mesmerizing network of raised, contrasting veins — the intricate reticulated pattern that gives this species its name. Compact and bushy in habit, it makes a striking statement in any indoor plant collection.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun exposure. Thrives near a north- or east-facing window.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing — 65–80°F (18–27°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: 60–80%. Benefits from a humidity tray or regular misting to replicate its humid tropical habitat.
  • Watering: Keep the medium consistently moist but well-drained. Avoid waterlogging; allow the top layer to slightly dry between waterings.

Additional Notes:

Leaves are velvety in texture with a bold reticulated vein pattern in contrasting tones, making foliage the primary ornamental feature. May occasionally produce small tubular flowers. Best grown in a rich, well-draining mix with good airflow around the roots.
