Information

Description

Description

A charming miniature species from cloud forests, Masd. striatella is distinguished by its delicate flowers with distinctly striped sepals — a fine pattern of lines that gives the species its name. Compact and tufted in habit, it blooms on slender upright spikes and rewards attentive cool growers with a refined, understated floral display.

  • Light: 70–80% shade cloth; sensitive to direct sun, which can quickly damage the foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C) — Cool grower; consistent cool temperatures are key to long-term health and blooming.
  • Humidity: 80–90%; maintain strong air movement at all times to prevent fungal issues and crown rot.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist year-round; water 2–3× per week. This species has no pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drying out between waterings.

Additional Notes

Grown at Ecuagenera's facilities in the highlands of Ecuador under cool, humid Andean conditions. Plants are shipped bare root, well-established.
