Information

Description

Description

A charming species distinguished by its compact stature and delicate flowers featuring tubular sepals with gracefully elongated tails that create an elegant silhouette.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50-70% shade cloth; direct sunlight will scorch the foliage.
  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate grower. Daytime 59-75°F (15-24°C), nighttime 50-63°F (10-17°C). Tolerates slightly warmer conditions than strict cool growers while still benefiting from a 10-15°F day-night temperature drop.
  • Humidity: 65-80% with good air circulation; maintain through humidity trays, humidifiers, or greenhouse environments.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist throughout the year; mounted plants need daily misting, potted specimens require watering every 2-3 days depending on medium.

Additional Notes

Native to Venezuela and Guyana at 1,500-2,500 meters elevation. Grows well mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or in small pots with fine bark mix or live sphagnum moss.
