Masdevallia Confetti

This charming hybrid between Masd. strobelii and Masd. glandulosa produces distinctive flowers with spotted patterns and tubular form. The compact growth habit and successive blooming create an eye-catching display, with flowers emerging on stems that extend above the foliage throughout much of the year.

• Light: Bright shade to filtered light conditions, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Temperature: Cool grower: daytime temperatures of 55-72°F (13-22°C) with nighttime drops to 48-58°F (9-14°C). Consistent cool conditions with good day-night temperature differential promote healthy growth and flowering.
• Humidity: Maintain 65-80% relative humidity with excellent air circulation around the plant. Use fans to ensure constant gentle air movement, preventing water accumulation on foliage.
• Watering: Keep media consistently moist throughout the year without allowing it to become soggy. Reduce watering frequency slightly during winter months while maintaining high ambient humidity levels.

Additional Notes

The spotted patterns and unique coloration are inherited from both parents, creating the confetti-like appearance that gives this hybrid its name. Best grown mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or in small pots with fine-grade bark mix or sphagnum moss for optimal drainage.
