Calanthe Ecuagenera Passion

A hybrid of Cal. hancockii × Cal. sieboldii, combining two terrestrial orchids from the woodlands of East Asia. Upright flower spikes carry sculptural blooms with pointed, gently reflexed segments and a prominent lobed lip, creating an elegant display above the plant’s pleated foliage.

• Light: Bright filtered light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid harsh midday sun, which can scorch the foliage.
• Temperature: 50–77°F (10–25°C), a cool to intermediate grower that benefits from cooler nights; protect from prolonged heat and freezing temperatures.
• Humidity: 50–70% with gentle air circulation; maintain ventilation around new growths to prevent moisture from lingering on tender leaves.
• Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth, keeping the mix evenly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering as growth slows in cooler weather, without allowing the roots to become completely dry.

Additional Notes

Grow in a well-drained terrestrial orchid mix of fine bark, leaf mold or coco coir, and perlite, using a pot with ample drainage. Shipped bare root, well-established; pot promptly on arrival and keep sheltered while new roots establish.
