Information

Description

Description

A miniature epiphytic orchid native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing narrow, linear-lanceolate leaves in a compact, caespitose habit. It produces solitary axillary flowers with triangular sepals ending in pronounced tails and a small, ciliate lip — a charming and botanically distinctive species for the miniature orchid enthusiast.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the small, delicate leaves.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that requires consistently cool temperatures and good air movement to thrive.
  • Humidity: 70–90%; high humidity is essential; grow mounted or in a well-ventilated setup to prevent stagnant moisture around the roots.
  • Watering: Water frequently to keep roots evenly moist but never waterlogged; mounted plants may require daily misting in lower humidity environments.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern, or in a small basket with a fine, open mix to ensure excellent drainage and air circulation around the root system. Ships well-established and ready to grow.
