Information

Description

Description

A large, well-established division of this compact epiphyte from the cloud forests of Ecuador, offered with multiple mature growths ready to perform. The flowers are produced in pairs simultaneously from the leaf axils — each displaying an elongated, densely spotted synsepal and thread-like antennal petals with long, dark, filiform tails.

  • Light: Moderate indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the leathery foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–68°F (13–20°C); an intermediate-cool grower that benefits from consistent temperatures and good nighttime cooling.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; high humidity with strong air circulation is essential for healthy growth and continuous blooming.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist at all times; no pseudobulbs means no drought tolerance.

Additional Notes

Blooms repeatedly throughout the year directly from the leaf axils. Best grown in a small pot with fine bark or sphagnum, or mounted with a moisture-retaining backing. Ships bare-root in excellent condition.
